5 words – investigate, exciting, playful, adaptable, open

5 sentences – It’s okay to let loose and get silly with your child – even get down on the ground with them! If your child is drawn toward the music and crawls away from you, it’s totally okay to let them wander and explore. This investigation is a natural stage in their development and this is a safe place for them to explore. Even if your child does not actively take part in singing or playing instruments, they may still be engaging fully by listening, absorbing, and watching which will still produce so many benefits. They may just need a few moments to stop and process what they’re hearing, and you might see them recreating some of these songs and experiences at home.

      Plan: Gathering/Hello song
Instrument play: Can I Hear You Shake
Transition chant to clean up instruments
      Movement: Where Is the Music?
      Bonding/tickles: I’m Coming to Getcha
Song about Me: Can You See Me?
      Goodbye

5 Words: Playful, exploration, spontaneous, observation, energy

5 Sentences: Your child is vocalizing with me using pitches that go along with this song! It’s okay for them to explore the instruments however they like, it’s all part of the process of learning and developing. They may need to move around in the space, that doesn’t mean they aren’t listening and engaging with the music! Your kiddo is so excited by the surprise in the music, you can do these “gotcha” songs at home too! They’re able to tell you when they do and don’t like the music, when they like it, that’s a great motivator for them to move towards it.

      Plan:
Greeting/Gathering Song: Sit Down With Me
      Bonding Song: Wiggly, Jiggly Car
Song About Me: Just Like Me
Instrument Song: In My Little Hand
Movement Song: March With My Baby
      Goodbye: Thank You Very Much

5 Words: Playful, curious, exciting, responsive, instrumental

5 Sentences: It’s so good to see your child coming into their own! I’m starting to see their own personality coming into class, and see them exploring instruments they might like, and some that maybe they won’t like. It might take a little bit of time for them to show those preferences too, but every time they come to class they’re learning and listening! It’s okay for them to explore and move around and they really feed off your energy too! Feel free to use these songs at home and see if they are interested on their own using them at home.

      Plan:
      Gathering song/ Greeting: Everybody’s Here
      Moving Song:I Can Move Around
      Bonding Song: Wiggly Jiggly Car
Instrument Song: I Like This Song
Song About Me:Where is the Music?- I’m going to also slow this one waaaaay down as I get closer to goodbye to get energy back down a little and not end on a peak!
