[Elizabeth Gifford]

Hello! My name is Betsy Gifford and I have been board certified since December, 2018. I live in Victoria, Tx (about 3 hours north of the Mexico border) and am the only practicing music therapist here. I began my private practice thinking I would work with a variety of populations since that is what I did in my internship at MusicWorx, Inc. in San Diego. I quickly realized that was a bit too ambitious for what I am able to do at this time, so I have instead decided to focus on working with kids. I do group sessions at a school for children with autism and then have several individual special needs clients. The last few months I have done volunteer work with the Children’s Discovery Museum and received great feedback from them! We have recently begun having discussions about incorporating music classes at the Museum, which has led me to search for additional training in providing group sessions/classes for children and parents. I am very excited about everything this training has to offer (songs, community, research, advice) and am hopeful that it will help me feel more confident in my abilities and skills as a music therapist.
