It has been my pleasure to be with each of you throughout this course. I am so glad to see how much you have each taken away and are ready to implement into your work. I wish you each the best in your next ventures and we are all here if you need any support.
ModeratorHi Jordann,
We are excited for you and your new venture. I am going to pass your question on to Meredith and Elizabeth.
ModeratorHi Jordann,
I am so glad that you found this training helpful and supportive! I wish you all the best in your new position and the wonderful work you will be doing!
ModeratorGreat insights! I think it is important to also remember music therapy does include musical goals, but those goals focus on development within music and how that supports global development in a child. If we look at Elizabeth’s book each stage focuses on these areas like “turning towards the music,” “vocalizing in 2nds and 3rds.” These are not specific music skills for the sake of becoming a musician (as Maria Jose pointed out), rather these developments lead towards growth and development of well-being in the child.
ModeratorRemember to save each of the frameworks you create to assist you as you move on after the training. It is a great reminder as you begin to lead your own groups.

in reply to: How have you used these four music experiences in your practice?
ModeratorHi Maria,
It is great to hear how you have used the music and translating songs into Spanish. You bring up important points about how things don’t always translate well between the languages and something to consider when using songs within different languages.
Can you tell us about how you use the four music experiences: singing, playing instruments, movement, and listening?
