Hello everyone!  I am Kristina Barbo, and I am so excited for this online training.  I participated in the live training in NY with Meredith and Beth, which was an amazing experience that provided me with a wealth of information on early childhood development and music.  I am taking this course as a current Sprouting Melodies provider at Roman Music Therapy Services.  I am thrilled to get the opportunity to take this training course again, and experience the new online format!

 

Background:

I graduated from Anna Maria College with a Bachelors in music therapy and vocal performance.  I completed my internship at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA, working with children 6-14 years old with visual impairments and multiple disabilities.  Shortly after my internship, I passed my board certification exam to become MT-BC.  I am currently living in Reading, MA and I am employed as a music therapist at Roman Music Therapy Services.  I am doing clinical work with groups and individuals of all ages and diagnoses.  I am also a Sprouting Melodies provider and have been working with families in Melrose, MA since September of this year.  I hope to gain new insight from this course now that I have had the experience of being a provider, and I hope to improve my skills and expand my knowledge of early childhood development and music for my Sprouting Melodies groups.
