in reply to: What are the needs of the families and communities that you work with?
Participantin my community there isn’t music therapy at all but there is a lot of early childhood intervention. And music is that magic ingredient that every early childhood program need. I see a lot of parents very interested on use this kind of therapy, parents open to “new” things and joyfull moments for them to bond. my hope in the next few months is to create this space for families, with music, love, and bringing knowledge to families on how can music help their child develop and thrive.

ParticipantI will make a class planification for every group depending on their age gap, and plan the class in a way i will use the 4 music expiriences in different moments, so they will have singing, movement, playing instruments and listening in an order that makes a great dinamic class. always trying to keep they attention and involvement in the sesion.
Participantlove this classes and the videos. what i liked the most is the first milestones. its amazing how babies do so much growth in 2 years, specially the first one and that is something that has always amaze me. this chapter made me review all the stages and milestone i have studied before and also made me think on what my 4 month old baby is acomplishing.
ParticipantI hope first of all the bring music therapy to my country and city because there are not much music therapist. second i hope to have a private practice and help kids in their development using this magic tool that music is but always understanding the stage they are, what milestone they have achieve and helping them grown in multiple areas.
ParticipantHi everyone. my name is MARIA JOSE, i am from Ecuador. iam a master degree music therapist student. i have a degree in early childhood too, so i would love to combine both. i am loving every single week of the videos submited.
I am 29 years old, I am married and have 2 babies. I am using everything learn with them and watching the responses. one is 4 month old and my daugther is 3, so their responses are different but both great.
I am hoping to start my private practice in the next few months working specifically with kids.ParticipantMusic Therapy provides this special ingrediant that we all know but makes our lives better. Every single person have different expiriences with music through the day but most of them are not aware of it. part of our job i think is to make people aware of it, to have a concieous expirience with music and let the music help them through out their day. Specially if they have kids at home give them the tools to bond with them and help them in their development.

ParticipantI am just starting my private practice but Ive been working with my kids (3 year old and 4 month old). doing a same song and watching in what developmental stage each one of them are. Also Ive been composing some gathering songs in spanish, i try to use the same as i see in the course but because of lenguage, articulation, intonation i have to change the melody. so Ive been learning a lot about that, how the melody depends a lot on the lenguage. so things work in english but doesnt work in spanish.
ParticipantI am from Ecuador, there is a lot of early childhood development but there is almost anything for music and kids, thats why i am preparing in this area. What is interesting is how on almost every day care here they have “music week” and learn about the cultural music of different countries.
Participanti use the “car on my knee” with my 3 year old and she loved it. she love cars and she loves to sing, this was a great way to bond, learn and gather. She was working really hard her attention listening till the end of the note and trying to replicate the same pitch.
Participantat this moment i am not working in a presential way because of covid but i have a 4 month old baby that i am applying everything on. i believe he is in the awarness stage. he is more interested on faces and smiling back than on toys. He prefers voices and cleary recognise different timbers.
