ParticipantHello everyone!
My name is Skye Bennett and I currently live in Alexandria, Virginia! I have actually been looking forward to taking this Sprouting Melodies course since 2012 upon hearing Meredith speak in a lecture during my undergraduate studies at Berklee College of Music. I still have the notes that I took during her lecture. Life can be so beautifully full circle! I passed the CBMT in April and recently accepted a position with Noteable Progressions, a private practice in Maryland. I feel so lucky that my new employer values this kind of training and is providing me with the opportunity to load my toolbox full of new music and skills for facilitating music therapy in early childhood settings. My internship was completed at Dallas Children’s Medical Center and most of my experience in undergraduate as well has been in the pediatric medical setting. In this course, I am most interested in learning new ways to incorporate caregivers into music interventions in a way that is development informed.
Cannot wait to reflect back on the course in 10 weeks on all that we have learned!
