Hi again, everyone! When I decided to study Music Therapy, I didn’t think I could/would work with kids. My practicum experiences and education opened my eyes to the applications of MT for young children. I completed my internship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO, and I am so grateful for that experience. I believe the combination of my long-time passion for helping children, my experience babysitting and nannying children of various ages, and my experience in children’s medical setting will bring a different perspective to this training.
Here at Operation Breakthrough (a local non-profit in KCMO), I’m learning SO much about trauma and how it affects the development of young children. I’m excited to combine my knowledge/experiences here with the information presented to understand how I can best assist our kiddos at Operation Breakthrough. Can’t wait to hear from each of you, and get more tips and repertoire to apply to my current setting.
