Hey SMP’s! Did you know that our own Erika Svolos was featured on the cover of The New Jersey Jewish Standard? She was interviewed about her music therapy program at Sinai Schools. Congratulations, Erika! Keep up the good work! You can read the article here.

(I originally posted this in Shout-outs, because I was so proud of myself for finally doing this! I guess it is more of a marketing topic, though!)
Hey Everybody! So far I have been a little hesitant to sign-up to be vendor at an event. It seems like it would be a great marketing opportunity, but I have never really felt “ready” to do that. I have no idea what I was waiting for, but I guess I’m ready now. I signed up for my first event on March 19. I will let you know how it goes! Have you done marketing events?

I decided that self-care would be something to focus on for this year. I have been attending a ballet class once a week since January. It is so much fun! I also participated in a 5K Run called The Color Run. One of their tag lines is “a 5K vacation”. It is true! The run was on a Saturday and that Monday, I felt very refreshed like I had been on vacation!

What self-care activities have you participated in lately?

    Hey Eveybody!
During our December call, we learned some great new songs! The call recordings are on the Provider Resources Page (https://raisingharmony.com/memberships/smp/provider-resources/) I tried out “Jumping Up and Down” from the You an Me Makes We songbook. It was a hit! You should definitely add it to your repertoire especially if you have boys:)

What a great idea! I didn’t even think about hiring someone else to lead the older groups. That is definitely something I will keep in mind!

    Hey Everybody!
I have a question for you. I feel like as SMP’s we should be successful in leading all of the SM classes. To be honest, I really struggle with keeping the older ones (18 months-3 years) engaged. I think I prefer Sprouting Melodies I & II because the kids are younger and it is easier to keep them involved. Am I way off or do you experience something similar? When we had the class at the park last week, one of the boys was on the playground during most of the class. I just let the mom handle it because I knew that if she brought him back to the circle, he would get upset. I guess my question is, do you prefer a certain age group (feel like it is your niche) and is that okay?

    Looking forward to your input!
    Christine

Elyse, Friends was my go-to Neflix show for awhile, but now I’m hooked on Parenthood:)

That sounds like a really neat idea! I have been sending an email with the link to Beth’s blog when she has new songs.

    Hey Everybody!
Do you have any ideas for Autumn/Fall songs? What about a parachute song? I think it is time to switch things up a bit in my SM classes!

Have you offered any free demo classes? Free classes are not my favorite thing, but it does help! One of our previous SMP calls was about demo classes. You can find it here. It also might be that your prices are too high. That happened to me, but I would try demo classes first if you haven’t already. Is there a location other than the library where you could have your classes? I have had demo classes at baby stores. Some of the SM Providers also provide a monthly library class where the library pays for it, but it is free for the community. Hope that helps!

    Hey Everybody!
I have a “TA-DA” moment to share. I am in the process of changing my business name and becoming an LLC. Well, today I filed the paperwork and paid the fee today! It just almost official! Now I get to move forward with my graphic designer for a logo. I’m so excited!
