I’ve been using more of the songs over the course of the program – my kiddos loved Wiggly Jiggly Car today! The Tickle Song has also been a favorite with my younger kiddos!
ParticipantI love how this is such a child-centered program – music provides the perfect opportunity for children to explore!
ParticipantThis program is a great way to get you started as a new music therapist! I wish I would have had this training years ago, so much great information!
ParticipantSometimes the transition can make a huge difference in behaviors! You make a good point with allowing parents to do what they need to to help with that transition.
ParticipantIt’s definitely helpful to check in with the parents at the beginning of sessions to see how the child is doing that day so you can plan accordingly – a change in the music and activity to meet their needs can make all the difference with their engagement!
ParticipantIt’s definitely important to acknowledge those children who are following the direction – sometimes that gets the attention of the others!
ParticipantKeeping the right amount of stimulation is definitely key – we may have to change up what we are doing in the moment in order to keep everyone engaged!
ParticipantYes – they will get much more out of a program that is tailored just for them!
ParticipantEveryone’s responses seem to sum up the same idea – balance is the key based on the needs of each child!
ParticipantVery true – I was once at a marketing event where a parent looked at our sign and walked away saying, “My child doesn’t need music therapy.” Unfortunately I was unable to engage them in a further conversation. People with and without diagnoses can benefit from what we provide – there are so many options!
